Social Distancing

<<< Keeping our (Social)  Distance!

Dunston Croquet Club is a new club in Lincolnshire which started in 2019 playing on lawns shared with Dunston Bowls Club at Dunston Playing Field, off The Green, Dunston, Lincoln LN4 2HE.

COVID-19 and Lockdown

We starting playing again on Wednesday 20 May; following the Government's and Croquet Association's guidelines we had only two players on each court.  With the change to the Lockdown Rules on 1 June, have been able to play up to four players on each court.   As a result we are now able to accept new players, so if you are interested in joining, please contact us as.  Croquet is an ideal form of sport and exercise which can be played while maintaining social distancing.

If you have never picked up a croquet mallet before, do not feel that you cannot join the Club. Many members start with no knowledge of the game, so we give tuition.  Croquet combines mental and physical skills. Strategy is as important as skill in hitting the ball where you want it to go. As the Croquet Association says: "Croquet is a challenging and intriguing sport requiring tactical ability, judgment and skill rather than strength and fast reflexes". It is also one of the few sports where men & women and young & old can compete equally in a social yet competitive environment.  No special kit is required, but please wear flat shoes to protect the lawn.  Look at the short video below.
